AMRITSAR MC SEEKS CASE AGAINST MALL

THE LOCAL Municipal Corporation has recommended registration of a case against the upcoming. Celebration Mall on the Batala Roads. It may be mentioned that after excessive water seeped into the basement of the under-construction mall a street behind it caves in at Gagan Colony, damaging houses and vehicles, yesterday.
Amritsar SSP Kunwar vijay Partap Singh said “The process was on to register FIR against the mall and case will be registered by Thursday night.”
The administration had to get the houses vacated after the street Collapsed to avert loss of human life.
Meanwhile, angry residents of Gagan Colony staged a protest against the construction of the mall and said they would not allow it to come up. They alleged that excessive digging done in the mall’s basement caused damage to street and nearby houses.
MC Commissioner D.P.S Kharbanda, who rushed to the spot on Wednesday morning, has marked an inquiry into the allegations leveled against the mall.
“We have found negligence in the construction of the mall. A few measures, which were ought to be taken as per the agreement, were not adhered to. Keeping these things in mind, the MC has recommended registration of a case,”Kharbanda told HT.
