AMRITSAR: The Tarn Taran police have recovered the body of a woman in her late twenties from a field at Jawal Kalan village. Police said the woman was strangulated and bore injury marks on her head.
Manjit Singh of the village found the body on his farm on Sunday morning. A bottle of wine and water and some disposable glasses were lying near by. A panel of three doctors, who conducted the post mortem, suspect rape, but Tarn Taran SSP S.S. Brar denied indications of sexual assault.
“We think it was a planned murder. It seems the accused and the victims were partying at the farm,” Brar said.
