SCOTCHING RUMOURS that he might be told to contest from Ludhiana or Patiala instead of Amritsar, BJP MP Navjot Singh Sidhu said he would contest only from the holy city. “Amritsar is in my blood and soul and I cannot think of contesting from another place, if I am told to do so this time by the party high command,” said Sidhu.
There are also reports that cricketer-turned-politician Sidhu, who campaigned aggressively during the Assembly polls in various states last year, could be used for campaigning across the country during the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. Sidhu reiterated that his success as a cricketer, commentator and TV anchor was nothing compared to the affection he had received as an MP from the electorate of the holy city.
