Says one rocket landed in Pak too from Indian side
DENYING ANY involvement of Pakistan Rangers in the recent rocket attacks in three villages of Attari border; the Pakistan authorities in a written communication to Border Security Force have counter-alleged that a rocket that exploded in their territory came from the Indian side.
Brushing it aside, the BSF is preparing a written response, describing the allegation as “totally false, objectionable and uncalled for”.
BSF IG Himmat Singh Gill said, “After the rocket attacks on July 4, we not only gave a strongly-worded letter but also asked for a status report:
Now, in a written reply; the Pakistani authorities have denied any hand of Rangers and claimed there might be some anti-social groups· responsible for these attacks.”
They alleged that a rocket, which fell in Pakistani territory at Pulkanjri, was launched from the Indian side, said the IG.
To a question regarding the groups mentioned by Rangers, the IG said, “That has not been described in detail.”
Panic had gripped three Indian villages on the night of July 4 when three rockets launched from the Pakistani side landed. One rocket, which hit the Pul Kanjri area of ‘India, also had its impact in the Pakistani side. Pakistan’s claim that it was launched from the Indian side has not gone down well with the BSF.
To a question, the IG said security had been beefed up all along the border.
