TERMING HIS appointment as Vice-Chancellor of Guru Nanak Dev University a homecoming, Prof Ajaib Singh Brar today said providing a clean administration and a good teaching and research environment would be his top priorities.
Vice-Chancellor of Lucknow University, Brar said, “GNDU is one of the best universities in the northern region and my effort will be to take it to further heights.”
Brar, who taught for six years in GNDU from 1976 to 1982, said, “I have a bond with GNDU as I taught in the Chemistry Department here. Wherever I have gone, I have always focused on teaching and although I am coming to GNDU as V-C, I will continue delivering lectures as well.”
Brar said, “Apart from academics, my major focus will be on sports so the glorious tradition of sports supremacy continues in GNDU.”
Brar has a vast teaching experience, having also taught in IIT, New Delhi. Since 2JYJ7, he has been the V-C of Lucknow University.
Brar said he would reach GNDU in around 15 days.
