Amritsar, June 2
THE TARN Taran police in a joint operation with the Border Security Force (BSF) today found 4 kg heroin worth Rs 20 Crore from across the fence in the Khemkaran sector.
The SSP, S.P.S. Parmar; said, “We had secret information that a consignment had been left by Pakistani smugglers near the Muthianwali Border Out Post. We tied up with officials of the BSF and started a search operation at the suspected site.”
A plastic bag was found buried near a tree across the fence. The bag contained four packets holding 1 kg heroin each.”
Parmar said the consignment was suspected to have been buried there by Pakistani smugglers, to be picked by their counterparts on this side of the fence. The packet marked “UNNN” had a Lahore address writ ten on it and a phone number.
A case under the NDPS Act has been registered at Valtoha police station.
