PROMISING DEVELOPMENT, MP Navjot Singh Sidhu today handed over Rs 65 lakh for the development in the Ajnala area and surrounding villages. Besides, Sidhu also maintained that projects worth crores have already been sanctioned for the area and once executed, Ajnala would get a major face lift.
Addressing a gathering, the MP said, ” The people of Ajnala have always supported last time and me I won from here with a huge margin of 21,000 votes. I would always look for the growth of this region.”
Rs 179-crores project for cleaning Sakki Nallah and Rs 60 Crore to give a facelift to ’mandis’ has already been sanctioned and the work would start soon, he added.
Taking a dig at the Congress, sidhu said, “The Congress in the past 20 years has hardly spent Rs 80 lakh for this region, but ever since I have become the MP I have given around Rs 2.5 crore for development tasks in and around Ajnala.”
