Amritsar is one of the most famous city of Punjab and all around the world. It lies in the north west of India. Amritsar literally means “the pool of nectar”, the name derived from a pool constructed at the sacred site in the 16th century, gifted by the Mughal Emperor Akbar to Guru Ramdas, the fourth preceptor of the Sikh faith.
Amritsar was established by the Fourth Guru Guru Ram Das Ji in 1589 A.D. The origin of the place Amritsar is still mysterious in the history. It is a hub of religious palaces and historical palaces. It has religious importance because of Golden Temple.
It has historical importance also because of Jalianwala Bagh. Amritsar has international importance because of Raja Sansi Airport, Indo-Pak Wagha Border and Bus Terminals. There are also many hotels and temples. It is really a very good place for tourism. The structure of education is very good in Amritsar.
There are many famous Schools, Colleges and Universities. Guru Nanak Dev University is the top leading University of India and Asia. Which is situated in Amritsar. The roots of tradition and culture is very strong in Amritsar.
The people of the Amritsar is preserve their culture and as well as follow the modern fashion. Bhangra and folk dance is the main culture of Amritsar. The roads of the Amritsar are metal led and houses are brick built. Some roads are congested but overall position is very good. The rules of traffic is very strict in Amritsar.
It is also known for its gates. There are twelve gates in Amritsar. Amritsar is also famous for its eatables like its confectionaries and papardom. Amritsar is a under developed city. But it is developing very fastly. It is very popular and populated city. It surrounded by many villages. Most population of Amritsar leave in villages.
The people of Amritsar is religious and superstitious. They are fond of dining and wining. Native language over here is Punjabi. Overall Amritsar is a very good place for dwelling.
