Amritsar leading in many trade & industries is major center for preparation of Warian Papad since pre-partition days. Amritsar warian papad have a unique taste because of its skilled labour and water resources.
Mah-di-Dal and self made masalas are used in preparation of papads. Mah-DI-Dal is the first grinded and then allowed to dry. Afterwards sajji stone having properties of soda is added to it. The above mixtures is put into mixing machine and thin papads are rolled. Here in Amritsar variety of papads are made viz plain papad, anardana papad etc.
