Amritsar News: In-Laws Booked After Woman Commits Suicide
July 2nd, 2009THE DISTRICT police have booked the husband and in-laws of a woman for allegedly forcing her to commit suicide here. Sources said they taunted Harmanjeet Kaur of being unlucky for the family.
Chheherta SHO Sarabjit Singh said Harmanjeet and Parwail had a love marriage about one-and-a half year ago. However, ever since marriage, Parwail family had been deriding her that ever since she stepped into their house; nothing was going right for them. Irked by these remarks, Harmanpreet consumed some poisonous substance on the night of June 29 and died, said the SHO.
On the complaint of the girl’s family, the police have registered a case under Section 306 of IPC against husband Parwail Singh, father-in law Kartar Singh and mother-in-law Harminder Kaur. No arrests have been made as yet.
